Purba Astara Swamiji Sangha (PASS) was established on 12th January in 1978.The organization started social works by the help of youths. Initially an office room was made by mud wall and Canopy of palm leaves by hard working of the young members. The main economic resource of this organization was the hard working in agriculture. From the beginning, the association held different types of social events like road repairing in the remote village, provide nutrition to the poor children, tree plantation, cleaning drains, clothes distribution etc. We also organize various types of sports and games like cricket, football etc.

The purpose of the organization is human welfare and to awaken the spiritual sense of common people. Our association is founded on democracy and guided by spirituality. The grate quote of Lord Sri Ramakrishna " Shivgyane Jib Seba" is our main theme. "Jata Mat Tata Path" is the way to respect and honor of all religions. We believe that this is the way which will establish a state of harmony and peace throughout the world in future. By following this ideal, education, health awareness, agricultural awareness, legal awareness, religion, science, philosophy, spiritualism, youth curriculum are arranged to build the character of the youth as well as women curriculum and self reliance training also held for women development.

After continuing these activities the organization got affiliation from "Hooghly Jila Ramakrishna Bhabprachar Parishad and Hooghly Jila Vivekananda Bhabanuragi Juba Sammelan Jila Samiti.

Now Purba Astara Swamiji Sangha (PASS) continue all the events with help of holy monks of Ramkrishna Mission Belurmath, Justice, Advocates, government officers, employees and many respected persons.

Purba Astara Swamiji Sangha is newly Registered in NGO Darpan. The organization also hold PAN, 12A, 80 G and C. S. R Certificate. The members of organization devoted to help the common people.

Purba Astara Swamiji Sangha observed national youth day and others National days, and organize Blood Donation camp ,Clothes Distribution, Ophthalmology operation, Helping needy students, Sports and cultural competitions, Planting trees, Repairing roads, Nara Narayan Seba etc. Birthdays of national heroes and other national days in India are celebrated with due dignity. Free coaching center has been running for many years for students of various levels. The charity hospital has been running also for many years for poor people. It is our firm belief that our Sangha will expand in human welfare and spirituality in the coming days. Our Sangha is always seeking help from people of all walks of life.
